The Union Public Service Commission is a constitutional body of India that conducts direct recruitment of officers to the All India Services and the Central Civil Services through examinations and appoints officers in various Services under the Government of India. It was established on 1 October 1926 as Public Service Commission, it was later reconstituted as Federal Public Service Commission by the Government of India Act 1935. Its headquater is located at Dholpur House in New Delhi.

1. Assistant Commandant (Group A)

No of posts: 506 (Five Hundred and Six)
Educational Qualification: A candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree of a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
Physical Standards:Candidates must meet the prescribed Physical and Medical Standards for admission to Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants), Examination, 2024 specified in official Notification.

Other Criteria of UPSC CAPF Recruitment

Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 20 years and must not have attained the age of 25 years on 1st August, 2024, i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1999 and not later than 1st August, 2004.
Age Relaxation: Category-wise age relaxation is as mentioned below.
# SC/ ST: 5 years
# OBC: 3 years
# Civilian Central Government Servant: 5 years
Nationality:  No person who is not a citizen of India shall, except with the consent of the Central Government signified in writing be appointed or employed under these Rules. Provided that nothing contained in these rules shall debar the appointment, enrollment or employment of a subject of Nepal or Bhutan under these Rules.
Sex: Both Male and Female candidates are eligible for appointment to the post of Assistant Commandants.
Employment Exchange Registration: Applicant must be registered in Employment Exchange.
Application Fee: Category-wise application fees is as under-
# UR/ OBC: Rs. 200/-
# Female/ SC/ST/ Persons with Benchmark Disability: Nil
# Payment Mode: Visa/ Master/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card or by using Internet Banking of SBI.

Selection Process of UPSC CAPF Recruitment

Selection Criteria 

(i) Written Examination: The written examination to be conducted by Union Public Service
Commission will be held on 04th August, 2024 and will comprise two papers. Paper I will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon and Paper II will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Paper I : General Ability and Intelligence – 250 Marks
The questions in this paper will be of Objective (Multiple Answers) Type in which the questions
will be set in English as well as Hindi.
Paper II : General Studies, Essay and Comprehension – 200 Marks
In this paper candidates will be allowed the option of writing the Essay Component in English or Hindi, but the medium of Precis Writing, Comprehension Components and other communications/language skills will be English only.

(ii) Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests :
Candidates who are declared qualified in the written examination will be summoned for Physical Standards/Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests. Those candidates who meet the prescribed Physical Standards as specified in Appendix-VI, will be put through the Physical Efficiency Tests.

(iii) Interview/Personality Test : Candidates who are declared qualified in the Medical Standards Tests, will be called for Interview/Personality Test to be conducted by Union Public
Service Commission. Candidates who are declared medically unfit but allowed to appear before the “Review Medical Board” on their appeal by the Appellate Authority will be called for Interview/Personality Tests provisionally. The Interview/Personality Test will carry 150 Marks.
Candidates who are short-listed for Interview/Personality Test, including those shortlisted for
Interview/Personality Test provisionally will be issued a Detailed Application Form (DAF) in which among other things, they will be required to indicate their preference of Forces.

(iv) Final Selection / Merit : The merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained by the candidates in the Written Examination and Interview/Personality Test.
